The big British cat pounces back from near-extinction. BRUCE NEWTON reports. The XF was hyped as the car that would make or break Jaguar – but the purchase of the British luxury brand from beleaguered Ford by cash-rich Indian conglomerate Tata has eased the pressure.
The XF still has a tough job, though. It replaces the mechanically adept but stylistically inept S-Type as Jaguar’s mid-sized competition for the likes of the BMW 5.
